Walnut Creek Warrior Lacrosse Club is both an instructional and competitive program aimed at introducing boys and girls to the exciting and fun game of lacrosse. As an instructional program, emphasis will be on learning stick skills, game fundamentals, honoring the game and most of all, having fun.  We are a member of the NCJLA where we will play other club teams of similar skill level to that of your son's or daughter's level.

Sunday Participation:
We face a great challenge as to the number of fields we have available to us, the cost of additional fields, and the number of teams who need the fields and coaches availability. Therefore we will have practices, games, clinics and events on Sunday’s. Our coaches will excuse a player for family requirements as long as there is clear communication in reference to Sunday participation prior to our player evaluations.
Please communicate with the appropriate VP of Boys or Girls if you have additional questions.

VP of Girls:

What are the parent obligations and how can I help?
We need volunteers. Parents are required to be involved in whatever way they can. Parent volunteer time averages around 10 hours for the season. Some examples of parent volunteer jobs are; Coaching, team coordinator,  field maintenance, game set up and take down,  score keeping, special events, etc.

I don’t live in Walnut Creek; can my child still play on a Warrior team?
We are limited by the number of coaches available and will do everything we can to place new and out of area players on teams. We welcome players starting at age 6 Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Clayton, Concord and Martinez.

Evaluations Process:
It is the policy of the Walnut Creek Warrior Lacrosse Club that all players will be evaluated within their age division before any consideration is given to inviting a player to "play-up" to a higher division. Exceptions to this policy will be approved only by the Vice President of Boys and Girls and the Board of Directors. With respect to "playing up", it is our strong preference that players play within their age division. Again, any exception to this rule must be approved by both the Vice President of Boys and Girls and the Board of Directors.
Parents, given these rules, it is important that your child attends the player evaluation for their age group as defined buy NCJLA Rules. In other words, if your child is 8 years old on December 31, they are a U9 player, 10 years old on December 31, a U11 player, 12 years old on December 31, a U13 player, or 14 years old on December 31, a U15 player.
For multiple Warrior teams within a division (for example, we have three U15 teams this year), players that exhibit by position the most experience, excellence in lacrosse skills, and/or athleticism will be selected to play on the highest level team within a Division.

The second highest team will then select and so on. All players that are selected to play on an "A" team are reminded that their commitment to this "competitive" level team is critical both in terms of effort and their availability. Players who cannot make this commitment may be asked to play at the lower level "recreational" B team. The Vice President of Boys and Girls and our Board of Directors will have final say on player placement in all cases.

Is There an End-Of-Season Celebration?
Yes, The Walnut Creek Warriors traditionally holds an end of season celebration with games, awards presentations, player recognition.  The end of year party will be in May.
